Emotional Support Animal & Service Animal Certifications
ESA and Service Animal Certifications allow you to take your pet with you anywhere without incurring additional fees from tenants and airlines. They pay for themselves in just 1 flight or 1 month of pet rent fees. Contact us to speak to our licensed professionals to see if you are a good candidate.
What is an ESA/ Emotional Support Animal?
An ESA is a pet that provides emotional support in addition to companionship to a person who suffers from symptoms such as anxiety, depression, panic, phobias, fears, and other mental health conditions. They help alleviate negative symptoms through companionship and affection. Under the Fair Housing Act (FHA), an Emotional Support Animal is viewed as a “reasonable accommodation” in a housing unit that does not allow its residents to house a pet in their unit.
What is a Service Animal?
A Service Animal is an animal specifically trained to perform tasks that assist a person suffering from physical and psychiatric conditions that are considered disabling, such as Autism, PTSD, etc. Service Animals are protected by Federal laws in the United States and are granted access to public places, including airlines, housing or dwelling, commercial areas, restaurants, supermarkets, and more.
What are the benefits of an ESA?
With our Emotional Support Animal Certification Letter, you can enjoy the following legal benefits:
🐾 You can live in housing at no additional cost (no matter how strict their pet policy is).
🐾 You can fly aboard airlines with your ESA and enjoy special accommodations.
What are the benefits of a Service Animal?
With our Service Dog Certification Letter, you can enjoy the following benefits:
🐾 Access to places of public accommodation, including housing and commercial or public areas.
🐾 You can fly aboard any airline with your Service Animal at no additional cost. Note: The Certification we provide at ARC Mental Health is contingent on the Service Animal being trained.
How does it work?
Certification is a simple and quick process. Upon contacting us, we will schedule a brief evaluation by one of our licensed counselors (can be done through telehealth). Once medical necessity is established, the licensed mental health professional will develop a treatment plan and work alongside you to certify the need for ESA and/or service animal accomodation. We will gather all of your pet’s information and you will receive your certification documentation letter via email.
How much does it cost?
Our ESA and Service Animal Certifications are very affordable compared to other ones you will find online. And, unlike others, our evaluations are performed by licensed professionals who ensure the validity of these documents. ESA Certifications have a cost of $150 and Service Animal Certifications are $200.
What is the difference between an ESA and a Service Animal?
With the new travel regulation in place, airlines have the option to not recognize emotional support animals (ESA animals) as service animals. The letter still works, but some airlines may charge the full fee to travel with a domestic animal. On the other hand, a Service Animal certification enables individuals with qualifying physical/ psychiatric disabilities to fly with no pet fees and benefit from complete service animal rights — that is if they are properly trained. It’s important to know that Service Dogs are a lot like ESA animals except they are specifically trained to fit your psychiatric disability and have the right to fly beside you, free of charge. We can offer guidance to help determine if your pet qualifies as a Service Animal.
